The beauty of mornings is that they are the beginning of YOUR day. I place the emphasis on ‘your’ because most people don’t feel like their day belongs to them. Trust me, I get it- you may work a 9-5 then pick up the kids and then take them to extra curricular activities or cater to family members and their needs. On top of that if you’re active in your church, a sports league or any community organization then the day may actually end 2-4 hours later than most. If you often feel like days just fly by and you don’t have enough time then I want to re-introduce you to mornings. Mornings are not just to rehearse your to do list or scramble out the house. Mornings are for you to set YOUR day in motion with focus and positivity. If you didn’t have to work a 9-5 what would you be doing for yourself? (Insert your answer here). That’s great! Well until then, wake up just 15-30 minutes earlier and do that. In that time you could:
- Pray
- Meditate
- Write your screen play or 3 pages of your book
- Do yoga
- Speak positive affirmations
- Drink your favorite tea or coffee
- Do your make up (although you’ve mastered car make up)
- Read that book you purchased and posted a picture about
- Journal
- Listen to motivational speeches or messages
- Work on a creative project
- Workout
- Cook
- Paint or practice your art
- Or write a blog post like I just did
You can literally do whatever makes YOU happy. No more excuses for not doing what fuels you as a parent, spouse, artist or business owner. Before you hit the door running in the daily grind marathon-Take back your days by taking back YOUR mornings. {Remember: Beyonce has the same 24 hours that you do}
My morning routine includes praying, writing and I’m working on adding some physical activity in there. Try taking back your mornings and tell me what you think.
